A little background on Black Beard
Black Beard truly was was a terror as he was one of the most dreaded pirates to ever sail the seven seas. For a good two years, more like bad two years actually, Black Beard and his crew stoke fear in the eyes of sailors on the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean. They had ambushed a number of ships in the years 1716 to 1718. Usually, all it took was the mere sight of his flag and the merchants would willingly surrender without hesitation just to avoid their impending defeat if a battle were to break out.
But even the most feared “era” had to come to an end. The reign of Black Beard came to a stop as he had finally lost the battle against Lieutenant Maynard and his sloops- sloops are small yet swift ships. They had tricked Black Beard feigning death so that when Black Beard’s crew jumped on deck, they caught them by surprise. Maynard had actually come face to face with Black Beard and shot him. A navy seaman finished the job by slashing Black Beard’s throat.
The head of Black Beard was then hanged from the bow of Maynard’s sloop used as a warning, scare tactic, if you will, for other pirates who would dare terrorize the seas.

Even though the story ended in his untimely demise, you can actually be the very life of the party dressed up in this pirate costume. Put on the full length black and grey coat that has finely detailed studs running up both sides of the opening.
